Brief Overview

Space RPS is a VR rhythm game. The player will need to fight with alien hand monsters on beat with rock, paper and scissor. Our team uses hand tracking to capture the gesture of the player, so that the player needs to show the right gesture as well as match with the beat. For example, to beat a scissor alien, the player must use a rock. The aliens will come towards the player from three parallel trails, so the players also get to move their body while figuring out the right gesture.

Game Design & Character Design

Rock, paper, scissors is probably the most famous hand game in the world. To make it more fun in VR and less based on luck, we decide to addd some action to the game. Therefore, we designed the game so that the players must respond to the approaching gesture, and quickly make a gesture that can beat it. We also had several designs on how the coming hands would look like, and we finally decided on a space arcade style, where strange hand aliens with an eye will approach the player from the UFOs in the background.
